The downfall of oil prices in the Middle East affected the economy of the countries exporting oil especially Saudi Arabia.many companies did not give their salary to their employees ranging from six to almost one year of not receiving salaries. Not known to the mainstream media and some government agency. Many OFW are now suffering of overworked and underpaid and others like to come back to the Philippines but the company and employer are not permitting him to return home. Featured in the mainstream media of MBC News a video was given by stranded OFW for almost 11 months he doesn't receive the salary from his company. The stranded OFW named Enrico Melicado in Al Bahar Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. He is seeking help to Pres. Duterte and government authorities to help him to return to the Philippines. For almost one year he is suffering from not receiving his salary and to survive, he is collecting garbage such as plastic bottles and metals to sell in the nearby junk shop to buy rice for his meal.
He made a video and give it to his fellow worker in the company and recently return to the Philippines, because their company now was closed and he is the only one remaining on the job site. He has no work on the job site and now his family is worried about his condition. He already informed the Consulate in Jeddah about his condition regarding for his repatriation.
It was uploaded by his fellow worker and it went viral to call the attention of government authorities here and abroad.Even the fellow worker who uploads the video showing the miserable condition of Milecado was four months stranded and not receiving the salary. Upon the video went viral some Filipinos are now giving some support to Melicado food and water. The government authorities responsible for his repatriation is now taking action and called him that they are now arranging his return to the Philippines.
