Another Pinay domestic helper has endangered her life by trying to depart from her abusive employer. The Pinay Household Service Worker was injured after jumping on the 6th floor of the residence of her abusive employer. Based on the Kuwait Times it was reported that the Pinay OFw has been found to be using a false passport given by the recruiter upon applying for a job in Kuwait. The true identification of the Pinay OFw who confessed that she is only 17 years old and her true identity is Malaiha Omar and not a 24 years old Rahima Omar that was seen to her passport.
She was allegedly captured of stealing from her abusive employer and she confesses that she did it during the interview. But she admits that her employer had been maltreated her from the start she arrived in Kuwait to work for them starting last August 2016.She shared that they spanked her with a belt, yell at her and beat her in the face for even a little mistake. She does not have any problem until she was captured that she had stolen KD 110. At the hospital, she shared that how she decide to jumped off the 6th floor of the building that results in her an injury in her left eye and a fractured leg.
Omar added that she is truly 17 years old and she is from the village in Datu Uddin, Sinsuat, Cotabato. Omar added that
"My male employer was asking about [his] missing pants, ” She shared. “Out of fear, I said I don’t know, but I knew where the pants are. I was just too scared to tell him because I don’t want to be whipped again. I accidentally burned the pants while I was ironing them. So, he inspected my cabinet and found the damaged pants inside. There, he also found the money ...When they said that they are calling [a] police, I was terribly scared,”
She said.
"I don’t know what to do because I don’t want to be arrested, so I jumped from the sixth floor, Omar recruitment agency said to the Philippine embassy that they would not file a lawsuit against the employers."The Philippine Embassy representative said
"I went to the hospital to check her condition and see how we could be of help whether the agency is helping or not. According to the recruitment agency personnel I spoke with, the young girl will not be filing complaints against her sponsor because she said it was her fault,"
Anyhow, Omar's confession that the recruitment agency has given the false passport she used to have a work in Kuwait and falsify her identity and age is so disturbing. A Filcom leader in Kuwait said
"The recruitment agency should be suspended and banned, and should be subjected to investigation, at least,"At her young age of 17 years old she is not able to manage such a terrible condition and the recruitment agency that deploys her is to be responsible. Finally it is not legal to take an underage worker and the bad thing is that they deploy them abroad using a fake passport.
