OWWA Understands The Importance Of OFW's Children And Families Education!

Through education, you will gain knowledge and knowledge are the power to reach and be a success in our dreams and goals in life. Parents are trying their best to have a stable job and a greener pasture to sustain the education of their children for their future.It is the force that pushes the parents to go abroad and to become an OFW to earn and save money to have their children enroll in prestigious colleges and universities or even foreign countries to have a quality education. In this situation of the modern heroes of our times the OFW, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administrations (OWWA) supports the OFW desire for the quality education for their children. The OWWA grant a scholarship to any four or five years course in any colleges and universities called the Education for Development Scholarship Program with maximum annual financial assistance worth Php 60,000 for the qualified scholars.

The applicants must qualify and passed the entrance examination conducted by the Department of Science and Technology. The examination passers to the top 200 examinees will receive the scholarship grant when they pursue their college in any colleges and universities.Another program of OWWa is the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)which gives the OFW dependent qualified scholars worth Php 20,000 financial assistance annually. The program is for the children of OFW with a salary of $400.

Another program is for the children of the OFW who died are welcome in this OWWA educational programs. This is so called Education and livelihoodAssistance Program (ELAP). The dependent and heirs of the OFW are assisted from the elementary level up to college graduation. That's how OWWA understand the ultimate dreams of OFW to have their children to graduate College and receives their diplomas. It is OWWA's aim to support the OFW to sustain quality education for their children and helping them to fulfill the dreams and ambition of their children and families.

OWWA is not only for the OFW who encounters the problem in the foreign countries, their welfares and case solutions.Other programs of OWWA is about the OFW reintegration and education to upgrade their professions and careers. It is rarely broadcast the multitude stories of success of the OFW scholars in Television Networks in the country. Since education and upliftment of standard of living of their families are OWWA' concern, the program will help their educational needs of their children and families in the Philippines.
