The Liberal Party Senators were detached from their positions and chairmanship of their committee in the senate because of the motion of newbie Senator Manny Pacquiao.From the beginning of their senate session at 3:30 PM Sen. Pacquiao pronounced a motion and reveals that the position of the Senate President Pro Tempore position is available. Sen. Franklin Drilon who has the previous seats support the motion of the newbies Senator Pacquiao.Sen. Drilon Seconded the motion of Pacquiao
" I will not interpellate Senator Pacquiao, I second the motion."On Sen. Drilon's depart from his position, Sen Pacquiao nominates Senator Ralph Recto, Chairman of the Minority Group in the senate to replace the previous position of Sen. Franklin Drilon as the senate President Pro Tempore.
The total of seventeen senators voted for Sen. Ralph Recto out of the total 23 senators and Sen. Chiz Escudero is one who voted for Sen. Ralph Recto. aside from the former senate president Drilon the newbie senator also proposed the transfer of another two Liberal party Senator s from their previous position and committee chairmanships to the minority.
The present Liberal Party President Sen. Francis Pangilinan was ousted by Senator Cynthia Villar as a chairman of the Agriculture Senate Committee. Previously Sen. Cynthia Villar was Senator Pangilinan Vice Chairman in the same committee. Another Liberal Party member Senator Benigno Paolo "Bam" Aquino was also ousted in his position as the chairman of the senate committee on Education by Senate Minority bloc member Sen. Chiz Escudero.
Another Senator Risa Hontiveros formerly an Akbayan Representative turned Senator was replaced and ousted by Sen. Joseph Victor"JV" Ejercito on Sen. Pacquiao's proposal. Remembering that the lady senator ran under the Liberal Party during the recent National election last May 2016.The three Liberal Party Senators are now the member of the minority group to be chaired by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV because of Sen. Ralph Recto vacation the position. Nevertheless, Sen. Recto stated that sen. Trillanes is only temporary until the new minority group will decide who will lead them.
