A Woman Hit And Run By White Car In Taft Avenue Caught By CCTV

It was early in the morning around 4 AM on the morning of Sunday at the intersection of Taft Avenue and Pedro Gil Street. when a woman crossed the road since the traffic light was in red. The woman was expecting that it is safe to cross the road since it was in red light when suddenly in her shocked that she was hit by the white car. There is one passenger jeepney that crosses along with her so she doesn't notice the incoming white car that hit her.The victim was identified as Lorna Garcia, 27 years old. The two Taxi that crosses the road slow down but unfortunately they didn't help the victim. The tricycle driver who was around the area help her. The victim suffers broken bones on her right shoulder, with bruises on her face and legs and all over her body. The victim was the bread winner of their family and go to the city to pass her requirements to the agency and she will be going to Riyadh as an OFW.

From the interview with the ABS-CBN reporter, Garcia shared
" Naka-red light naman po at nasa pedestrian lane ako. Sana naman binalikan nya ako, sana naman tinulungan niya ako." 
This is the sentiment of the victim that she was expecting help from the driver who hit her but unfortunately ran and gets away. According to the Manila Risk Reduction and Management Office (MRRMO) who monitors all the CCTV in the city, they notice that majority of the motorist didn't follow traffic rules and regulations, especially on the day break.

The Management office reminded that motorist that doesn't disregard the traffic lights, be cautious on the pedestrians.They call the attention of the drivers and motorist who witness the incident to contact their office to help the poor victim. The Management Office advises the public to be vigilant and cooperate and even they request to hide their identities they will do it. The driver suspect will face charges of beating the red light and reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries. For the pedestrian be vigilant and watchful when crossing the road because many drivers are not following traffic rules and regulations.
